1. Be Nice. Always be nice, because people dislike having deal with bad customer service. I can’t even tell you how many times I have had a horrible telephone experience. Treat people like you would want to be treated.
2. Learn How to Sell. Why should someone buy into you and what you have to offer? Selling has never been about being a sleazy slick salesman. It’s about helping people solve a problem and enhancing someone’s life.
3. Always Look For Better Solutions. Most businesses or people are still doing the same stuff from 20 years ago. Successful people are always looking to get better with fresh ideas to help customers or clients. They get the most out of what they have and are always looking to reinvent their business.
4. See Things From The Customers Perspective. The more you see things from the customer’s perspective, the more you will be successful. You have to put yourself in their shoes and understand where their coming from.
It’s an ongoing process of learning and requires lots of time. If you don’t take the time to understand what makes people and companies you work with better, you won’t understand how to be successful.
5. People Always Take The Path of Least Resistance. I have met hundreds of people with great ideas over the years. However, what they fail to analyze is whether their idea will make anyone else’s life better or easier. Is it a path of least resistance to a better place for a user? Yes or no.
6. Know About Technology. I believe technology is the great equalizer in business. It can sometimes give businesses the unfair advantage and a way of sticking out from the noise. You can put yourself in a unique position if you can determine how the new technology can benefit your customers.
